Boeing Business Jet For Sale – The BBJ MAX 9 is a business jet that entered the market in 2019. Equipped with two LEAP-1B turbofan engines producing 28,000 pounds of power, the BBJ MAX 9 seats eight passengers, has a range of 6,515 nautical miles and a maximum cruising speed of 470 knots.

On June 17, 2015, at the Paris Air Show, Boeing of the United States announced that an unnamed European customer had sold the first BBJ MAX 9. Developed from the best-selling Boeing BBJ 737 MAX airliner, the BBJ MAX Series is the optimum combination of space, comfort and range. With unparalleled cabin comfort, lower fuel consumption, greater range capability, advanced cockpit, lower noise and lower emissions, the aircraft can fully meet the different needs of business jet customers. Plus, BBJ MAX owners have a lower total cost of ownership than other expensive business jets. Improvements in aircraft maintenance programs have driven nearly the same operating costs as smaller business jets, and still maintain relatively high salvage values.

The BBJ MAX 9 is designed with a spacious cabin – more than three times the size of most business jets in its class, with interiors tailored to VIP preferences and a low cabin height. The cabin is 32.67 meters long, 2.16 meters high and 3.3 meters wide.

The aircraft has an outer length of 42.18 meters, a height of 12.3 meters and a fuselage diameter of 3.5 meters. The MAX 9 has a wingspan of 35.69 meters and is equipped with advanced technology winglets. The wingtips take advantage of natural laminar flow to reduce drag while increasing effective span. This winglet is standard on all BBJ MAX aircraft.

The MAX 9 is powered by two CFM LEAP-1B engines with a maximum thrust of 28,000 lbf each. With an optimized core and a fan 8 inches larger than a Boeing 737, it has unmatched range and efficiency compared to the competition. The aircraft has a range of 6,515 nautical miles and a maximum cruising speed of 470 knots. The service ceiling is 41,000 feet, with a climb rate of 3,100 feet per minute. Sales of Boeing business jets hit the mid-teens this year, a sharp rebound from a slump in 2016 during which the airframe maker secured orders for just three of the bizliner series.

Sales of Boeing Business Jets have bounced back after a slump in 2016, with the unit recording $2.7 billion worth of orders for 14 planes since the 2016 NBAA convention. Sales cuts across the line: seven for the BBJ/BBJ Max family, one for the 737, and the remainder split between 787-8, 777-300ER and 747-8s.

At least a dozen orders were received in 2017, making this one of the strongest years for sales of Boeing business jets. Greg Laxton, who took the helm of Boeing Business Jets earlier this year, noted the cyclical nature of the business, saying, “I’m very humbled and excited that we’ve had a great year.”

Laxton attributed the rise to a strengthening global economy. “The market is coming back. GDP is rising, commercial traffic is trending up, even the freight market, which has been depressed, is trending up,” he said. “From an economic point of view, the world has stabilized, and that makes people happy to fly in VIP.”

While some sales involved heads of state, sales were balanced between personal, government, charter and other uses. Sales were also geographically balanced between Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East.

As the economy stabilizes, Laxton is encouraged by the interest in the new Max family. Boeing has sold 16 Max models and expects to begin delivering the first model in the series, the BBJ Max 8, to customers in early spring 2018.

The Max 8 is already in commercial service with six airlines, Laxton said, noting that its entry into service is progressing well and that the plane is attracting growing interest.

Four of the past year’s sales involved legacy BBJs, but with Boeing’s 737 family expected to transition largely to the Max family in 2019, slots for those planes are coming to an end. “We’re starting to see a lot of interest in switching to Max,” he said.

The bizliner division is highlighting the possibility of the latest addition to the BBJ Max family, the Max 7, for an interior design concept in collaboration with Paris-based design firm Alberto Pinto. Shown in a cutaway model at booth C11808, the concept aims to showcase clean, modern lines while also emphasizing the Max 7’s extra space and flexibility.

“Our clients can take advantage of multiple living areas, a full bedroom and full-sized bathroom, and the new design beautifully highlights these benefits,” said Laxton.

Based on the shortened Max 8 body, the BBJ Max 7 will be 6’4″ longer than the original BBJ, providing additional room for a small office or bedroom, master bathroom and/or living space. In addition to space, the Max features a Leap-1B engine and other improvements that allow for a range of 7,000 nautical miles.

Boeing Business Jets unveiled the Max 7 at last year’s NBAA convention and won its first order from an Asian customer late that year.

For Laxton, NBAA 2017 was his first. Laxton joined Boeing Business Jets after serving as Regional Sales Director for Northeast Asia, where he was responsible for commercial aircraft sales and related services to Air China, Air China Cargo, Shandong Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines. After serving as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force, he joined Boeing’s defense division.

Laxton told AIN that he jumped at the chance to turn to the business side “because I’ve been on the defensive side my whole life,” and said he enjoyed his life in the business world. It also facilitated his transition to Boeing Business Jets, he said, adding that he found the VIP world to be a tight-knit community. “The beauty of BBJ is its small family both internally and globally,” he said. But he added that while it’s a small community, “it’s as diverse as it can be.” Still one of our all-time favorite Boeings, the VIP-configured 757 on the static display ramp is for sale.

US-based aircraft brokerage Avjet Global Sales showcased a recently refurbished, low-age VIP Boeing 757 at MEBAA 2018 (Static [TBD]), complete with a stunning interior “which is sure to spark interest in the region ,” said Marc Foulkrod, CEO of Avjet.

MEBAA and Avjet (Chalet [TBD]) are a suitable pairing, as the Middle East is a key market for VIP airliners and large cabin aircraft, and Avjet has completed more than 450 aircraft transactions, mainly involving Gulfstream, Bombardier Global, BBJ, and Other large nacelle fuselages, valued at more than $8 billion.

Avjet is known for its rigorous market research. The brokerage retains the services of economists and consultants in aircraft valuations and pricing trend forecasts, and its own records of aircraft transactions provide valuable proprietary data that can represent clients on either side of a deal, Foulkrod said. Avjet also provides research data to investment firms such as JP Morgan, UBS Securities, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley.

Looking at the current Middle East second-hand market, “the bargaining power in the region has shifted from buyers to sellers,” Foulkrod said. The region is slowly transitioning from being a net seller of aircraft to being a net buyer of new and used aircraft.”

But despite signs of a rebound, “multiple global uncertainties could undermine the momentum that is building,” he said, pointing to U.S. economic growth and the stability of global currencies and interest rates. Concerns about tensions in MEBAA’s backyard were conspicuously absent from his list of concerns.

“Honestly, I don’t think there is more risk or instability in the Middle East than in other regions,” Foulkrod said. “All regions have some form of instability. We’re locked in a bitter trade war with the U.S.,” he added. “There are new governments coming to power all over South America. There is instability everywhere.” The slow-moving Boeing Business Jet BBJ2 has an attractive interior design that combines modern style with traditional inspiration. This fantastic BBJ has an interior layout comprising a bow entourage and galley area, a large mid-cabin lounge, a large dining/meeting lounge, a large study and a large aft with ensuite bathroom and shower master cabin. Commercial seating can accommodate up to 19 people and private operation can accommodate up to 32 people. For comfort, efficiency and enjoyment in flight, the aircraft is equipped with state-of-the-art entertainment and communication systems. For maximum range, the aircraft is equipped with six auxiliary fuel tanks and an additional fuel storage tank. This
