How Much Is A Tesla Roadster Worth
Released in late 2017, it is still unclear when the Tesla Roadster release date is. Tesla originally targeted a 2020 launch, but the latest word from Elon Musk is that the car will only go into production in 2023. Promisingly, Tesla opened reservations for the Roadster in April 2022 after they closed it, so hopefully the car is on track to arrive in 2023.
Very Special Tesla Roadster Goes For Sale At Insane $1.5 Million Asking Price
The price of 2023 Tesla Roadster is as open as its performance. Just one of these cars will cost you $50,000. At the time of this writing, Tesla has not disclosed a base price on its website, but previous indications indicate that the Tesla Roadster will start at $200,000 MSRP for the base. model and go up to $250,000 for a limited Founders Series model.
Electric sports cars are rare, so it’s a challenge to put down competitors for the 2023 Roadster in the US. For similar money, there are several extremely powerful cars with excellent mpg (or MPGe) ratings. At about $30,000 less, the Acura NSX Type S hybrid is another interesting option but it’s on the way out. Even cheaper is the amazing Audi RS e-tron GT, but that’s a more luxurious GT. Another hybrid supercar in the form of the 671-hp McLaren Artura could move you away from the Tesla. None of these cars are nearly as fast as the Tesla, however. For something that lives up to those claims, you’d have to look towards the $2,400,000 Rimac Nevera.
The exterior of the Tesla Roadster appears to be production ready. This is a four-seater sports car with a removable glass roof and a sporty design without a cover. Like other Tesla models, the exterior is smooth and mostly free of decoration. It has a low front hood, sharp pointed headlights, and a sporty low bumper. Muscular fenders and large wheels dominate the side view, while the rising beltline leads to a shapely rear end with an integrated spoiler.
The glass roof panel can be stowed in the trunk and provides outboard motors for those in front, although rear seat passengers will still have a roof over them.

As for the colors of the Tesla Roadster, it was shown in red but we hope that Tesla moves away from its rather limited color palette that offers little more than black, white, gray and blue. Overall, it’s a fun, modern and sophisticated sports car that makes the most of Tesla’s traditional design cues.
The dimensions of the Tesla Roadster have not been shared yet, but it should be larger than the first generation model which could only seat two. That first Roadster was about 155.4 inches long, 73.7 inches wide, and 44.4 inches tall. The wheelbase was just 92.6 inches.
Expected to be equipped with three electric motors – one at the front and two at the back – the all-wheel drive Tesla Roadster is considered to be the fastest car in the world. Remember, the record breaking Model S Plaid also has three motors and makes 1,020 horsepower, so the Roadster should be able to do the same. Tesla has released several specifications including a wheel torque of 10, 000 Nm which translates to 7, 375 lb-ft.
The performance figures wouldn’t seem believable if the Model S Plaid wasn’t already around. Tesla claims the Roadster will go from 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, 0-100 mph in 4.2, and can clear the quarter mile in a blistering 8.8 seconds. The top speed will be over 250 mph, which would be an achievement for an EV.

Will it be another EV that’s fast but lacks emotion, or will Tesla find a way to make the Roadster fun in the corners too? We will have to wait and see.
EVs haven’t just started surpassing 500 miles of range, as is the case with the Lucid Air sedan. With that in mind, Tesla’s claim of the Roadster going 620 miles on a full charge sounds optimistic. But with a 200-kWh battery, this claim may not be beyond belief.
The new Tesla Roadster coupe should be capable of Tesla’s 250-kW charging speeds. At a Tesla Supercharger, about 200 miles of range can be added in 15 minutes.
The interior of the Tesla Roadster shares a buttonless, rather plain approach with other models in the brand’s range. Although the production model may be different, the dashboard we saw is just a flat slab with nothing on it. The only major interior difference compared to other Teslas is the presence of a large, enlarged touchscreen display in the center. There’s also no traditional gauge cluster, and the steering wheel is the company’s controversial yoke design.

The front seats of the Tesla Roadster are fun buckets that look comfortable and supportive, but the seats in the second row are much smaller and seem to be suitable only for children. This will be a 2 + 2 seat in the same way as the Porsche 911.
The tablet will likely feature Tesla’s standard white and black interior, and a layer of carbon fiber appears to cover the dashboard. More sporty and high-tech than plush, we’re looking forward to seeing if the Roadster’s interior quality has stepped up from other Teslas.
The Tesla Roadster’s cargo space is hidden under a long rear hatch, although it doesn’t seem like much space if the top is stowed. The underpinnings of the Roadster – or whether it will even have one at all – are unknown.
