Graduates of this diploma will have the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue advanced career prospects in the wider health sector, including but not limited to, opportunities with: Federal health departments and agencies (e.g. Health Canada, Canadian Agency for Medicines and Technology in Health ); provincial health ministry; Corporations (for example, private insurance/pharmaceutical benefits management companies, pharmaceutical/medical device companies, contract research organizations, or healthcare companies that provide biopharmaceutical and commercial outsourcing services); Entrepreneurial ventures (eg startup companies).
This program will last for 10 months. Students will complete two online courses over one academic semester, followed by a six-month, full-time paid internship position with an external partner. It is anticipated that the internship start date will be in January.

After the deadline, the Admissions Committee will review all completed applications. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the Admissions Committee via video call or may be asked to travel to Queen’s University for an in-person interview. Candidates will be notified of their acceptance into the program within two weeks of the interview.
The course portion of the program runs from September to mid-December. During this time, students take two 14-week online courses. Interviews with companies will also be conducted at this time. Students will be matched with companies by December. The internship starts in January, and lasts for six months.
You will be invited for an interview with a company interested in hiring you as an intern. The internship-company matching process takes both employer and student preference into account.
The list of companies that take internships for the PHMI program changes every year, as does the number of apprentices that are taken by each company. Many well-known global companies with Canadian headquarters.
