If the name you’re looking for comes back with a record, be sure to look in the “Status” column. In this example, there are some that are suspended or dissolved. Status – “FTB Suspended,” “SOS/FTB Suspended,” or “Dissolved” means the business is not active in the state. “Active” means the business entity is in good standing and all reports and filing fees are up to date.

$120 seemed pretty steep. I was pretty sure I didn’t pay that much to submit my information in the past.
Reviewing my records, I saw that my statement of information was not due for another seven months. The last time I filed, I did it directly through the Secretary of State website. The filing fee was $20, not $120.
Beyond the $20 filing fee, the Secretary of State gave me the option of paying $1 to get a hard copy mailed to me. For an additional $5, I can choose to have the hard copy certified (stamped, signed and dated on the back).
