Any update on SSDT for VS19, how can a company like Microsoft forget this, why does it pay its employees huge amounts of money.
With Visual Studio 2019, the functionality required to enable Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services projects has been moved to the corresponding Visual Studio extensions. The main SSDT function for creating database projects has become indispensable for Visual Studio (you must select a data storage and processing workload during installation). No other standalone SSDT installation is required.
As of 7/4/2019, VS 2019 Community Edition’s Visual Studio Extensions (“Manage Extensions” menu) does not show “Integration Services” as an available item. I can’t create a new SSIS project (Integration Services Project) in VS 2019.

With Visual Studio 2019, the delivery model for SSDT has changed. In short, you don’t need to install any additional tools other than selecting a data storage and processing workload from the Visual Studio Installer before creating a database project.

Even if you have this feature installed, as @jasonfetter pointed out, you cannot create new SSIS solutions in VS 2019. When you try to open an existing SSIS project or solution, you get a Migration Report error that shows:

@TerryGLee Saving and processing data and selecting all modules 100 times doesn’t work. We need SSTD VS19 to open an existing ETL project. (.dtproj) should be supported in VS 19.
SSRS and SSAS extensions seem to have been added to the market, but still waiting for SSIS.
Got caught with this today! I can do SSRS and SSAS, but no SSIS… I would also recommend updating the docs because it convinced me I could do it.

If it takes this long to release an extension, SSIS must be really low on the priority list. I can’t imagine there’s much of a difference between 2017 and 2019 when it comes to expansion. Get this, guys!

The SSIS issue is still not resolved in the latest version of 2019. I added the extensions and still can’t create the SSIS project. Can I install an older version of visual studio 2017?

When I run this SSIS installer on Windows Server Core 1803 as follows, I get exit code 1603 and it always seems to fail to install the Microsoft.DataTools.IntegrationServices.vsix file with VSIXBootStrapper.exe. This step produces error code 0x80131500. Any help in decoding this error code would be appreciated.

I had the same experience. I waited more than 4 hours for Visual Studio hours to create the first project. Eventually I restarted and tried again and now I’m stuck in a process that never ends. I’ve dealt with some sad MS releases over the years, but this one tops them all.
