Location services on the iPhone allow your apps to do all sorts of things, such as give you directions from your current location to your destination or track your running route with GPS. Privacy settings in iOS and iPadOS help you control which apps have access to the information stored on your device. Apps that can display your location on the screen, including maps, show your current (estimated) location with a blue marker. On maps, if your location cannot be determined accurately, you will see a blue circle around the marker. The size of the circle shows how accurately your position can be determined – the smaller the circle, the greater the accuracy.
